How to Study the Brain Using Frog Oocytes

Professor Ricardo Miledi visited our department and gave a seminar entitled "How to Study the Brain Using Frog Oocytes"

Hosted by Prof. Vlad Parpura, February 4, 2003.

A reception preceded the seminar, giving graduate students and faculty a chance to socialize with Dr. Miledi.

The talk was a wonderful historical overview of Dr. Miledi's pioneering research, beginning in the 1960s, to use Xenopus oocytes as a tool to characterize the electrophysiological properties and pharmacology of neuronal transmitter receptors ."
